ISLA HOLBOX
It is an island in the north of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula, in Quintana Roo state. It is part of the Yum Balam Biosphere
Reserve; the Yalahau lagoon, which houses flamingos and pelicans, separates it from the continent. The island lies between the
Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, with waters rich in marine fauna, such as sea turtles. Highlights of the island include the tranquil
village of Holbox, a bioluminescent bay, and Punta Coco beach.
